A huge thanks to the staff and management
of Dunnes stores, Sligo for allowing us
to fundraise in their Cranmore store
last Thursday and Friday (23rd and 24th.)
Also we have to give a special thanks to
the girls of the Ursline convent, Sligo
for all their hard work on both days.
They're a credit to themselves and their school
and we greatly appreciate their time and energy.

Brussels October 14th and 15th.
One of the campaigners staunches supporters, MEP Marion Harkin who has been working tirelessly for the campaign since its inception invited a deputation from the campaign to come to Brussels. Both Marion and MEP Jim Higgins sponsored the trip and 4 of the campaigners made their way to the Belgium capital for a hectic two days.
October 11th. Dublin
The Campaigners join the 'Patients Together' March from Parnell square to the Dail.
Thursday 18/09 Meeting with Harney.
The campaign was offered a meeting with Harney and two of her advisors under the following conditions:No publicity of any kind.
No political representation.
No medical specialists to be part of the delegation.
Of course when the delegation turned up, there was Harney, Keane, and three others to join the 'informal meeting'. Needless to say, the Minister for Health didnt want to hear anything we had to say, couldnt give a reason for Breastcheck not reaching the Northwest.
In fact she believed Sligo should never have had Cancer Services!! To say she seemed completley disinterested would be an understatement.
She also denied that she was ever asked to meet the group before now!!!
Of course herself and professor Keane still refuse to come to Sligo. They wont even speak to the team running SGH's cancer services unless they comply with conditions such as completely acceding to the Cancer strategy and not discussing the possiblity of Sligo as a centre.
So much for democracy and discussion.
Next they will be denying that it was us that requested the meeting or that they placed any conditions on our meeting.
